What market prices actually mean
The Romanian light-aircraft market covers a wide range: from a few hundred lei for a short scenic flight to a few thousand lei for a complete aerobatic flight in an aircraft approved for aerobatics. The difference is not about commercial margin — it is about the type of flight being delivered.
We do not publish other operators' prices, because they change often and an out-of-date list quickly becomes misinformation. What is worth comparing is the content of the offer: actual time in the air (not the length of the whole visit), the manoeuvres included, and whether the aircraft is certified for aerobatics.
Scenic flight vs. aerobatic flight
This is a common confusion, and it translates directly into price differences. In short: a scenic flight is a sightseeing trip; an aerobatic flight is one manoeuvre after another, with the aircraft deliberately taken out of normal flight.
| Criterion | Scenic flight | Aerobatic flight |
|---|---|---|
| Aircraft attitude | Straight and level, gentle turns | Leaves normal attitude: loops, rolls, spins, inverted |
| G-forces felt | Close to normal | 3–4G on the Introduction, 4–6G on Full Aerobatic |
| The aircraft | A standard light aircraft | An aircraft approved for aerobatics, with higher structural limits |
| Pilot training | A pilot's licence | Specific aerobatic training and certification |
| Passenger restraint | Standard seat belt | 5-point harness |
| Purpose of the flight | The view | The physical sensation of the manoeuvres |
At Vulturașul, the Smooth Flight is the equivalent of a scenic flight, while the Introduction to Aerobatics and Full Aerobatic are true aerobatic flights. Detailed explanations of the manoeuvres are on the good to know before your flight.
Why the prices differ between packages
The difference between 650 and 2,000 lei is not only about minutes in the air. The real cost components are these:
Actual flight time
20 minutes of flight for the Smooth Flight, 30 minutes for the Introduction to Aerobatics and also 30 minutes for the Full Aerobatic flight, out of a total experience of 30, 40 and 45 minutes respectively. Every minute of flight means airframe and engine hours consumed, which count towards the aircraft's maintenance programme.
The manoeuvres and fuel consumption
A smooth flight is flown at economy power. Aerobatics needs high power almost continuously: entering the loop, the recoveries, regaining height between figures. Fuel burn per minute is substantially higher than in cruise.
Wear on the aircraft
Repeated 4–6G loads age the structure faster than normal flying. Components exposed to aerobatics have shorter inspection and replacement intervals, and checks are more frequent. That cost is reflected in the price of the flight.
Pilot training and certification
Aerobatics with a passenger on board requires a rating distinct from ordinary flying, kept current through recurrent training. It is a skill built over years and maintained continuously.
Fixed operating costs
Insurance, airfield fees, hangarage, scheduled maintenance — costs that exist regardless of how many flights are flown in a day.
What "interest-free instalments" means
The amount is split into equal payments and you pay exactly the same total as you would paying in full. There is no interest, no administration fee and no hidden cost added along the way.
- Smooth Flight: 3 instalments of 216.67 lei = 650 lei.
- Introduction to Aerobatics: 3 instalments of 500 lei = 1,500 lei.
- Full Aerobatic: 6 instalments of 333.34 lei or 12 instalments of 166.67 lei = 2,000 lei.
How to choose the right package
- You have never flown in a light aircraft and you want the view more than the adrenaline → Smooth Flight.
- You want to feel aerobatics, but not at full intensity → Introduction to Aerobatics.
- You are an aviation enthusiast, or you want the complete experience, with spins and inverted flight → Full Aerobatic.
- You are buying a gift and are not sure what they would prefer → the Introduction to Aerobatics is the middle option that works for most people.
Frequently asked questions about prices
Is the price per person or per flight?
Per person. The aircraft carries the pilot and one passenger, so the price shown covers a single flyer. For two people, you buy two flights.
Are there extra fees at the airfield?
No. The price shown is final, and rescheduling the flight is free, subject to availability.
Do I get an invoice?
Yes, the invoice is issued automatically through SmartBill, for both individuals and companies. If you need a company invoice, enter the details at checkout.
Does the price include filming the flight?
Ask the team when you book which filming options are available for your date, as it depends on the equipment fitted to the aircraft at the time.
Does the price change if the flight takes place in another city?
Tours around the country are announced separately, with their own conditions, on Instagram and TikTok. For one of those dates, confirm the details directly with the team.
How long do I have to use the flight I have paid for?
24 months from the date of purchase. Details on the gift card.
