The six steps to booking

  1. 1

    Choose the right package

There are three options, differing in duration and in the intensity of the manoeuvres: Smooth Flight (20 minutes of flight, 30 minutes total experience, smooth manoeuvres over the coast), Introduction to Aerobatics flight (30 minutes of flight, 40 minutes total experience, loops and rolls, 3–4G) and Full Aerobatic flight (30 minutes of flight, 45 minutes total experience, including spins and inverted flight, 4–6G).

If you are not sure which one fits, the details of what each package includes and why the prices differ are on the how much an aerobatic flight costs.

  2. 2

    Pay online

You complete the order on the site. Payment is processed securely by Stripe and can be made in full or in interest-free instalments — 3 for the Smooth Flight and the Introduction to Aerobatics, 6 or 12 for Full Aerobatic. The invoice is issued automatically through SmartBill, for individuals and companies alike.

  3. 3

Receive the gift card by email

As soon as payment is confirmed, the gift card arrives at the email address given at checkout. It is valid for 24 months from purchase, so you do not need to know the flight date when you buy. If you are giving it to someone else, they choose the date. More on how it works on the aerobatic flight gift card.

  4. 4

    Agree the flight date

You book directly with the team, by phone or WhatsApp, on 0726 327 192. We fly Monday to Saturday, 08:00 to 20:00, in the spring–autumn season, when the weather allows aerobatics to be flown safely.

It is worth proposing two or three possible dates: it improves the chance of catching a good weather window first time. Early morning and late evening usually bring calmer air.

  5. 5

    Weather reconfirmation

At least 3 days before the agreed date, the team contacts you to confirm the flight against the forecast. Aerobatics are only flown in suitable weather — wind within limits, good visibility and no low cloud base.

If the forecast looks poor, an alternative date is arranged in good time. If the weather turns suddenly on the day itself, the decision to postpone rests with the pilot and is taken on the ground, before take-off.

  6. 6

    Flight day

You arrive at the airfield at the agreed time, with your ID. Then comes the briefing with the pilot: the manoeuvres, how to sit correctly, how to breathe under G, and what to do if you want the aerobatics to stop. After that, getting kitted out, the 5-point harness, and take-off.

What happens if the weather is bad

Nobody flies under pressure. If the weather does not allow it, the flight is postponed — it is not lost and you do not pay again. Rescheduling is free through the link in your email, subject to available slots. As the card is valid for 24 months, even a postponement at the end of the season leaves plenty of time for a new date the following year.

Worth remembering: a weather postponement never means losing your flight. The decision not to take off is a safety decision, made by the pilot, and it is the only right one when conditions are not suitable for aerobatics.

How long the visit to the airfield takes

Actual time in the air is 20 to 50 minutes, depending on the package. Add the briefing, getting kitted out, any wait if there are flights ahead of yours, and the time after landing, when most people simply want to sit for a while and talk about it. In practice: set aside half a day and do not schedule anything urgent straight afterwards.

How to get to Costinești Airfield

The airfield is in Costinești, Constanța county, a few kilometres from the coast. From Constanța you take the DN39; from Mangalia, the same road in the opposite direction. Once your date is set, the team sends you the exact meeting point and a landmark to navigate by — small airfields are not always clearly marked on online maps.

The home base is Costinești, but the team also travels periodically to other cities in Romania for Full Aerobatic and Introduction to Aerobatics flights. Those dates are announced on Instagram and TikTok, and details about the operation are on the about Vulturașul.

Frequently asked questions about booking

How far in advance should I book?

Ideally at least a week before your preferred date. The schedule depends on the pilot's availability and the weather, and peak-summer weekends fill up faster.

Can I book the flight on the same day I buy it?

Not guaranteed. Buying and booking are two separate steps, precisely because the date depends on the weather and the flying schedule. As the card is valid for 24 months, there is no rush.

Does the gift card recipient have to be the person who paid?

No. The card can be given to anyone who meets the flight requirements (minimum age 10, with both parents present for minors, and maximum 100 kg). The recipient contacts the team and chooses the date themselves.

Can I bring someone with me?

Yes. Companions can stay on the ground in the airfield's waiting area and film the take-off and landing. Only the pilot and the passenger go up in the aircraft.

What if I am running late?

Let the team know as soon as possible on 0726 327 192. Flight windows are tight, especially on busy days, and a long delay may mean moving your flight to another day.

Can the flight be cancelled outright?

The cancellation and refund conditions are those set out in our Terms and Conditions. In practice, if a date no longer works for you, the first option is free rescheduling.
